Salesian Sisters – City of Hope

14 September, 2010: The City of Hope also welcomed a visit from one of the Trustees, Mr. Kieran Prendergast, and his wife from the UK, together with the Beit Trust Representative, Mr. Johnson, and his wife from Harare. We were very happy to see Mr. & Mrs. Johnson again and to introduce Mr. & Mrs. Prendergast to the City of Hope for the first time. Mr. Prendergast is a past pupil of a Salesian School in the UK, so he is very familiar with Salesian Charism. The CoH is appreciative of the support the Beit Trust has given to our different projects over the years.

August 2010: The City of Hope was very happy to welcome Jane, Richard, and Marcus from the Salesian College in Farnborough, UK., where Jane and Richard are teachers and both Marcus and Richard are past pupils. The Sisters appreciated the opportunity to share with them the City of Hope, as well as hear about the Salesian School in Farnborough. The CoH family enjoyed their company and is grateful for its growing relationship with school.

6 June, 2010: Congratulations to two members of the CoH family! Bridget, a former pupil, was married at the City of Hope, as she said that this is her home and where she found a family.  After completing Grade 12, Bridget had traveled to South Africa to work and study hotel management. After a few years, she completed her schooling and has now returned to Zambia.

Past volunteer Monika also married in June, to Florian in Innsbruck, Austria. We wish both couples many blessings and pray that their marriages are happy and fruitful!
